Wayne Township, New Jersey Selects TekTron and Tyco Electronics Wireless Systems' VIDA Network as the Backbone for its P25IP Digital Trunked Radio Communications System.  

TekTron and long-time vendor partner Tyco Electronics Wireless Systems, a worldwide leader of critical radio communication systems, today announced the Township of Wayne, New Jersey has selected Tyco Electronics’ VIDA (Voice, Interoperability, Data, Access) network as the backbone for its P25IP (Project 25 to the power of IP) digital trunked radio communications system. The VIDA network will provide Wayne Township with a unified, reliable wireless network that will provide superior on-street radio coverage to that provided by the current system, increased system capacity and enhanced interoperable communications. The company's VIDA network will also provide the Township with a clear migration path to future technologies (such as P25 Phase II) without expensive forklift upgrades, unanticipated costs or proprietary terminal equipment restrictions.
